Rally for Refugees, April 2014

 

In early April, Palm Sunday events kicked off on the Saturday in Brisbane with the Rally for Refugees. Some Buddies and Young Buddies members took to the rally and marched throughout the streets of Brisbane, supporting the humane and just rights of asylum-seekers and refugees in Australia. Speakers on the day included; 

• Mark Isaacs, author of 'The Undesirables', an eyewitness account from inside the Nauru detention centre

• Reverend Dr Peter Catt, Anglican Dean of Brisbane

• Benedict Coyne, Qld convenor of Australian Lawyers for Human Rights
